Are you looking to broaden your management accounting experience and take on a varied role?
We are recruiting an Assistant Management Accountant for an established business. You will gain exposure to different business operations and contribute to reporting, planning and the day-to-day finance function.
You will join a collaborative team where you can build your experience, take responsibility and help improve how the finance function operates.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with monthly management accounts across four UK entities.
Preparing accruals, prepayments and other month-end journals.
Completing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining fixed asset registers.
Analysing variances, identifying trends and explaining changes in financial performance.
Supporting budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with departmental managers.
Assisting with cashflow management and projections.
Working closely with site managers and finance colleagues to ensure accurate, timely reporting.
Supporting recruitment and the day-to-day management of accounts payable and receivable.
Assisting with year-end audits and liaising with external auditors.
Contributing to process improvements and finance system enhancements.
There will also be very occasional travel to other UK sites when required.
We are looking for a personable, proactive finance professional who enjoys understanding the figures and working with colleagues across a business.
You will bring:
Relevant experience in assistant management accounting or a similar finance role, with practical exposure to month-end.
Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent status, with ongoing studies.
A sound understanding of management accounting principles.
Strong Excel skills and experience using accounting software.
The ability to work independently, organise competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Clear communication skills and a willingness to investigate issues and suggest improvements.
A full driving licence and willingness to undertake occasional UK travel.
£32,000 annual salary.
Full-time, permanent employment.
20 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service.
Pension contributions of 3% employer and 5% employee.
